Any views on Friern Barnet school and/or Heartlands school in north London?

Just that really. We are a couple of years off applying yet. I think we could miss out on both APS and Fortismere which I had hoped for, so am just starting to think what other options there might be as a fall-back.

Any views on either of these schools? Much appreciated.

My neighbours daughter goes to Friern Barnet and they are very happy. Whereabouts are you? Compton is very good.

Thanks SocialMediaAddict

We are more M'well Hill but possibly not close enough to the MH schools so just thinking of Plan B. I don't think we would be close enough to Compton but I think FB has a wider "catchment" (not that there is such a thing obviously). Thanks

My daughter is at APS but the catchment has shrunk massively. You can ring Haringey and Barnet and they will give the exact measurements from your house.

Yes, thanks. I've got some of that info - though obviously it's changeable year on year. I just didn't know much about FB school at all. Thank you!

FB has a reputation for being pretty rough I'm afraid.

I'm also interested in views on Heartlands.

There's a general sense around here that it's a 'good school', but it's website is a bit uninspiring and it's probably a bit early to say.
