Ibstock vs Streatham & Clapham

Our DD is lucky enough to be offered places at both these schools, and I just wondered what your opinion would be please. i know that answer should be obvious as Ibstock has really good results in comparison, amazing grounds/facilities, and the children seemed polite and happy, and I hear good things, but for some reason i keep throwing up obstacles - the journey is a bit tricky, approx 40min broken up into three legs, and what I value is a nurturing, confidence building environment, which feels more prevalent at SCSH. Our DD is quiet, studious, and not at all alpha, so could do with having her confidence lifted, but I worry that as good as a school Ibstock is, it might not do the job as she may find herself swimming amongst some highly academic peers, which could be her undoing. I probably have it all wrong, and worry unnecessarily, but would love to hear your views.

I would choose the school with the better journey which sounds like Streatham and Clapham. A journey broken into 3 legs is bound to experience delays. She will do well at either school.

A girl's school will be good for your daughter if you feel she'd benefit from having her confidence lifted - I wouldn't fancy a journey with 3 legs either - my DD has two and that is quite enough!

Thank you all for your wise words. We are going to go with S&CH. ;-)

Ditto. I thought the headmaster session on Tuesday was very good.
