Thoughts on Lymm High or Marple Hall

Hi there

Am posting in chat for traffic... looking for any experience/thoughts/advice on either Lymm High or Maple Hall schools - we are moving back up to the area in the summer.
Also, any info on accessibility for me getting into central Manchester for work.
Please help, am now going round in circles?!?

Hi Circles. You might want to post this on a Mumsnet local board. It seems very London and South East / independent school biased here! I don't know much about Lymm High and even less about Marple but the commutes if driving would be long. I'm sure people on the Manchester site might be more helpful!

I live in the Altrincham area. The local schools are good, some Grammars, some Secondary Moderns and an independent. You can get the tram into Central Manchester in about half an hour. It is an 11+ area, which puts some people off but the Secondary Moderns like Wellington are very good, as is Knutsford, so some children don't do the exams at all. It's relatively expensive for Manchester but Lymm and Marple are quite expensive too. It's more 'suburban' than Lymm too, but might be worth a thought.
