Dear All,
A wonderful 2015 to you!
I'm looking for the latest scoop on Abingdon School - the good, the bad and the ugly! I've seen very mixed reviews that are about a year old, which I'm trying to streamline. For instance, what exactly does "academic push" mean? Does this mean that a not so uber-genius boy will encouraged to become one if he has the potential to or does it mean pressure on the child regardless of whether he can do it or not jut to keep the school's reputation up? Seems to me like they only accept the high fliers anyway so is there really a lot of real teaching going on to make the boys reach and exceed their potential or are teachers just lucky enough to be working with a crop of really bright and self-starting boys?
Also, since its a mostly day school, are there enough borders around at the weekend to make the school a lively enough place at the weekend?
I'm looking at 6th Form entry for my DS and trying to make up my mind so ANY and ALL information will help!
Thanks
