Mumslife- sounds like your df had the perfect send off. So glad to hear everything went well. Your df would be so proud of you and your dd hope you both stay strong for each other.

Littleham · 25/03/2015 17:53

Exeter Offer Day today. Really appreciated the free bus from the station. Nice campus and very plush accommodation!

DD2 liked Exeter and the department, but after some more reflection she has decided to stick with York as her Firm choice.

NiceCardigan · 25/03/2015 22:00

Littleham It's nice to have the final decision made Smile

Decorhate · 26/03/2015 19:51

See this is why it's equally stressful for parents- dd came home from school today announcing that her EPQ has to be in tomorrow not next week. How long do you think it will take to edit 8000 words down to 4000? Shock

NiceCardigan · 26/03/2015 19:55

Oh dear Decorhate that sounds like it's going to be so long night. DS did his EPQ presentation today but I have no idea when it's due in.

Littleham · 26/03/2015 20:06

DD did her EPQ presentation today as well. She said she had loads more questions than anyone else. Hope that is a good sign. Her project is finished so she just has to do the little booklet. Crawling towards the Easter Holidays now.

Good luck with the word count reduction Decorhate. Just be ruthless. Smile

Horsemad · 26/03/2015 20:06

Eeek Decorate, thinking of you! Shock

Decorhate · 26/03/2015 20:09

If you scroll back you'll see that the EPQ presentation was Monday night's drama Hmm

Leeds2 · 26/03/2015 20:09

Good Luck Decorhates's DD. That doesn't sound an easy task.

Decorhate · 26/03/2015 20:11

Ah well, pulling an all-nighter will be good preparation for university!

NiceCardigan · 26/03/2015 20:46

Are providing tea and sympathy Decorhate or staying out of it?

Decorhate · 26/03/2015 20:49

Only offering advice when asked! Tea was declined but may pop out for chocolate for her!

NiceCardigan · 26/03/2015 20:53

Good luck!

AtiaoftheJulii · 27/03/2015 05:47

Has she managed it?

Decorhate · 27/03/2015 06:04

Don't know - fell asleep around 11. She was still working on it.

I am so glad DS is doing science/maths subjects - so no coursework!

Decorhate · 27/03/2015 18:38

seimum, I think ISAs are as bad as coursework.
You'll all be glad to hear that dd handed in her EPQ on time!
Please can I be fast forwarded to 14th August. Please.

Hello everyone - I think I need this thread over the coming weeks, so hope it's ok to join now!

DD is usually confident and super-organised, but had meltdown last week - 'what if I don't get in anywhere' sort of thing. Facing up to the fact that someone else is going to have the authority to say 'nope, you can't come' if she misses out whether by a huge or a narrow margin, is suddenly really difficult for her.

Back on a fairly even keel now... but what do you say to make it better? And how to cope with the fact that I too, secretly, am worried she won't get in where she wants to!

At least it's a distraction from the dread of her leaving...

hellsbells99 · 28/03/2015 13:47

Welcome to the thread!
I also dread DD not getting in anywhere - DH and I have made sure one of us is off work for the week following results (advised by friend whose DD went through clearing last year).
All you can do is encourage and feed and water during revision - just made DD1 a fruit salad and coffee mocha, and DD2 (yr12) a toastie and juice.
And try and keep everything calm - glad DH is working all weekend so he can't nag! My dining table is buried under books and folders as both DDs don't like to study in isolation.

Horsemad · 28/03/2015 17:17

We're coming back early from hols to be back at home for midnight on 12th August. DS will be trying (prob repeatedly!) to access UCAS from midnight to see if he's in or not. If he is, I'll go to bed Grin if he isn't he'll be hammering down the school door at 8am to pick up his grades and see where he can get in Hmm
