Are there lots of teenager behaviour problems at this particular moment in this term?

Just that really: are teenagers (or children generally) just nastier at this particular point in the Christmas term? Is it the clocks going back and more darkness or more tiredness or work/approaching public exams catching up with people and making them ratty?

Both my two: Y11 and Y13, have come back with tales of unpleasant behaviour on the buses, in classrooms. Girls bitching about other girls in front of them and behind their backs. Boys being bullies on school buses.

Not sure but I always find this point of the winter term onwards challenging (have 2 boys, 6th form and Yr 9). Every year, either primary or secondary, there are a raft of things happening, there are usually some kind of exams either just before or just after Christmas, the gloss of the new school year has well and truly worn off, the 6th former in particular has realised just how much work is involved and how easy he actually had it at GCSE and yes, the cold and dark is not helping. Both boys are also taking part in the school show this weekend and are exhausted from later rehearsals on top of school.

I don't know generally if behaviour is worse at school but at home we will now limp from weekend to weekend and everyone will only properly cheer up when school holidays start.

I'm a pastoral head in a secondary and the last two weeks have been bonkers - not sure why, poss cold, dark, kids huddled in corners instead of getting rid of energy, mock exams, pressure ramping up...

Oh thanks, perhaps it's not just my two, who both seem to have had ghastly days yesterday, with friends being really unpleasant.

Not sure but my DD is exhausted and ill and screechy after exams and DS is being HORRIBLE

The Autumn term is always the worst as unexpected said.
