Are they definately changing from coursework based to exam based?

Yes. Present Y8 will be the first cohort.

Current Yr 9 will do a mix - Maths, English Lit & Lang new style (grades 1-9) and everything else old style. More SPAG marks (20%)

mostly already changed ..... v v little coursework in the summer 2014 exams

2014 cohort sat a strange hybrid.

2015 cohort will sit mostly exam-based GCSEs, though there are still controlled assessments and ISAs which will be taken before the summer exams and will count towards the final mark.

2017 cohort will become still more exam-based, I believe, with the removal of CAs (not before time).
