Burntwood or Richards Lodge

Helloo, the closing date is looming fast, and I still can't make up my mind as to which girls school to put first…Burtnwood or Richards Lodge? They are similar size school - BWood is one class bigger - and the results are varied with Burntwood slightly better all round, but it is very big in pupil size, and the size of the premise. Richards feels more like an old school and has a cosier feel, with excellent results for science. Any insights would be most appreciated.

Which are you closest to? Might make a difference in your preference choice if you can't really decide between them otherwise. Is one usually more oversubscribed than the other?

I think burntwood has a slightly better reputation, but did you go to the open days and get a better 'feel' for one over the other?
Are the admissions criteria similar (I.e in regard to siblings and distance) - this might inform your choice in order to give you the best chance of getting in. Unless you are on the doorstep of either school, it is still all a bit of a lottery and you may well end up with something completely different altogether.
Good luck.

You might like to ask this question on the Mumsnet Merton 'Talk' page too for local insights.
