Could anyone please tell me particular art projects and skills that your children have done or are doing in yr 7? And what subjects/topics in science? I have looked at KS 3 info but would like info specific yo yr 7. Thank you.

Hi catnippy:

In art DD1 has only had one homework which was to make a colour wheel. (working primary and secondary colours). I think they're now working on some sort of collage project in class - a mural for one of the walls I think based on sunset over sea (so blues into yellow into orange with a circle of white at the horizon - but actually haven't asked recently.

Science very similar to what lupo describes - homeworks 2/3 times a week - usually worksheet type activities reviewing what was done in class. I suppose a lot of it is vocabulary - so learning parts of a cell or a microscope or names for chemistry apparatus. They heavily pushed lab safety for a few homeworks - chemical warning symbols/ symbols for equipment/ safety rules.

Still-life sketching with tone/ shading.

Cell structure, animal and plant cells, functions of different cells - ciliated, blood cells, sperm cells (still much tittering, sigh!). Plus lab safety lesson.
