Transferring from State School to Independent School

We are moving DD from her state school (Yr 8) to an Independent School after HT. The Independent School breaks up on Friday for two weeks and Ideally I would like DD to finish state school on this day too.

We are away for a week for normal HT and there is lots to sort out before she starts her new school (we only opted to do this 2 weeks ago).

Any idea's what the procedure is for withdrawing DD from her state school ? (the official start date at her new school is 3rd November)

I just wrote a letter to the head when I took my dd out saying when her last day would be. I didn't say where she was going as we were emigrating so I didn't know.

Oh lottymum's am doing the same in year 9, just sent my email tonight, New school are sending old school a letter.

Good luck to your DD, big change but we are sure it's the right thing to do.
