Scholarship personal statements

My DD is in year 6 and is taking an entrance exam to enter the selective senior section of her school. She should pass the exam.

She has requested to apply for a drama scholarship, throughout the junior school there have been comments about how she sparkles when she performs and steals the show etc. She attends a stage school on a Saturday and a selective musical theatre group on week nights.

So we need a supporting statement from her drama teacher (DD asked teacher has agreed with enthusiasm), an audition monologue ( no problem has another audition piece ready anyway) and the personal statement. I want it to be her words, but I don't think a ten year old can write this without some guidance. Any experiences?

Hi, check with school as I know at my ds school they run sessions where the scholars prepare their 'cv' and personal statement

It's all with in the same school so no 'scholars' class.

Dd2 has just filled in something similar for sixth form, so she's a little older but I suppose the general idea is the same. She mentioned what she likes about performing, her experiences on stage, productions/ shows/ festivals she has been in, extra-curricular drama, theatre groups etc and any vocational exams done. ( LAMDA, musical theatre, dance etc). She also loves the theatre so mentioned productions she has seen and been inspired by.
My guess is they'll ignore much of that and go entirely on the audition though!!
Good luck to your dd :)
