Hi there, I am looking for info on St Cecilia's in Southfields. Do they offer Music places? Also which boys schools are there in this area. My post code is SW15. First hand info on Raynes Park High or Coombe Boys would be much appreciated... My son is currently in Year 6...

Hi Zimbo, if you don't get the answers you need start a new thread with your general area, post code or names of schools in the thread title , to catch the eye of the people who actually know the area.

MN is too busy for everyone to catch every thread.

Good luck!

Have you been to the open days? And looked at prospectuses online? They should have info on the we site about scholarships and now they are managed .

St. Cecilia's - Specialist music places
'10 Foundation and 5 Open places will be offered to children who demonstrate that they have the aptitude to benefit from a specialist course in music. Places will be allocated on the basis of aptitude tests carried out on
Wednesday 26 November and Wednesday 3 December 2014 to include performance either as a vocalist or instrumentalist and a test of aural perception and awareness. Applicants will be placed in rank order
according to their total score in the aptitude test. Applicants will need to complete an additional music application form if they wish to be considered for a specialist place. Those not offered a specialist place will automatically be considered for a place under the general admission criteria.'

Boys schools - Ernest Bevin??

Check out the schools' website or Wandsworth's 'Choosing a Secondary School' booklet for more info on these.
