Please can anyone help me? I am looking for independent schools in the area for my ds to apply to. The only one I know of is Latymer Upper.

Please comment below with other good/outstanding independent schools in Hammersmith & Fulham and surrounding areas (Ealing even!)

I would appreciate it greatly!

Thanks in advance. :)

There is also Godolphin & Latymer has a great rep locally too. From what I can remember its selective using the 11+.

There are a fair number of Independent schools in West London but in Hammersmith and Fulham it's Latymer Upper and then Colet Court/St Pauls is just over Hammersmith Bridge.

Most children expect to travel for secondary school so you should probably look outside the confines of H&F: St Benedict's in Ealing, Emanuel which is about 10 minutes walk from Clapham Junction, Kingston Grammar, Hampton (has a school bus with numerous pick-up points), Radnor House, Kew House, Ibstock, Harrodian (bus ride over Hammersmith Bridge).

I'd suggest a copy of the Good School Guide, having a look at the reports, then going and looking at the schools and seeing what they are like and whether you think the journey is manageable.

How old is your son at the moment? Is he currently in the English system? Most of the schools will require that your son sit the 11+ in year 6, but being outside of the UK will give you a good basis for applying off-cycle.

Independent schools where boys can study for GCSEs in Hammersmith and Fulham include Latymer Upper, Al Muntada Islamic and Chelsea Independent College. There's also the Young Dancers Academy which specialises in ballet and the Moat School which focuses on children with specific learning difficulties.

For independent schools in nearby London boroughs, take a look at the LondonSchooling.com map and results pages.

Boys also go to St Benedicts in Ealing which is mixed & Catholic but you don't have to be Catholic & Emanuel in Clapham & St James which is in Ashford (tube to Richmond & then overground or coach from Hammersmith).
