Is anyone child studying this at 'normal' mainstream school?
Did they have to study from an Entry book before a GCSE book?
Reason being is that my daughter who attends a special school is having to study from an entry book. Her teacher says that it lays the base for the GCSE. But i am concerned as she has already spent a year on the entry book that she won't know enough of the GCSE syllabus to get a decent grade as she won't be able to answer the harder questions.

He predicted her a D. She was above a level 5 in her AR report back in March. But last year at the end of the school year she did some tests. Can't really remember without hunting out the report and was scoring 6's and 7's on some topics.

So over the school holidays she has been studying from a GCSE book, that her school was originally working from until this teacher arrived and bumped them all down to entry.

Hi I have a dd in Y10 who has just started this syllabus for Double Award Science at a mainstream school. They are using GCSE books from the start: the top set are using Higher books and the lowest set Foundation, they are taking the Core Science exam at the end of Y10.
We haven't been given predicted grades for our dcs yet, but as a guideline the school are saying that level 5 at the end of KS3 indicated a grade C at GCSE.

Ended up emailing the OCR. Hopefully they will get back soon. Her science teacher must think i am really stupid. Well i'm hoping that OCR will do something as i have checked the specs of both entry and GCSE. They do not have 'coursework' the entry has a practical test which takes 4hrs and the gcse has an controlled test which will take over 6 hrs.
He goes and says that the coursework can be entered for both. He says that it's extra work for him having to enter it twice. WTH !! No it just shows that your a lazy £"$£%$%$
