Has anyone got any experience of Prior Park, Kingswood or King Edwards? I want to find a good academic one but also one that offers pastoral support and a kind environment. I don't real know any of them so would really appreciate help and advice.

My stepson went to King Edwards - he is now a maths don and lectures on maths all over the world.
He enjoyed it as well as being well taught.

We've friends with DC's at both Kingswood which has a good reputation for pastoral care, and king Edwards which seems to be considered to be more pushy.

Thanks for your responses. That's interesting as I thought Kingswood was by reputation more pushy but I really know nothing. Am going to tour both. Are either more sporty or academic?

Have close friend with DD at Kingswood. She is bright but not especially academic and is doing really well there. I don't get the impression that it is at all pushy, although she is certainly expected to work hard, but not to the exclusion of all else. She seems to do lots of drama and music, and it sounds like a very friendly school with plenty going on. I know it's at second-hand but I hope that helps.

We got friends with a DS at King Edwards, father is a complete sports nut as is the son they love the school. It also seems very pushy academically.
