Anyone requesting a remark on AQA History?

We're contemplating this... DD thought it one of her best exams but she is fully 5 marks off the grade boundary in History B Unit 1. Just wondering if anyone else received 'surprising' marks in the module.

Hello OP

Do you mean she was 5 marks off her target grade?
I think most people tend to question a remark when they are very close to a particular grade and think they were marked down by a particular answer.
I had a pupil do this another subject at A level and ended up with less the second time than the first, so it does depend on what you have to gain whether you decide to go ahead.

Yes, 5 marks from an A* in a paper which she thought had gone really well. History is her 'thing' so the advantage of an upgrade would be mainly psychological, hence the dithering. Also, A is very good and seems petty to be ho-hum about it. I know grades can go down too, but they'd have to go down quite a lot to result in a B and I feel this is unlikely.

Is it 5 raw marks or UMS? I would get it remarked, not much too lose imo.
