Hi, does anyone know if the 2014 league tables have been published for independent senior schools?

The Times published their A level table on the day the results came out - thats their usual way.

the Telegraph published their table in their saturday edition this weekend just gone. and their usual way would be to publish the GCSE tables this Saturday.

interesting differences between the two papers tho - the Times ranks schools by percentage of A levels A to B but the Telegraph using A and A only. they give different results

The Telegraph ones (I can't access the Times one) are surely meaningless as the very big players SPS Westminster et al are not included.

The really interesting league tables come out in the new year. The current ones published by the press, obviously don't include remarks and appeals. We've already had students with improved grades and it can make a real difference as there's so little between the various schools.

But yes, all the different papers choose different criteria and order those criteria differently. So I suppose it's looking for a consistent top 10/20 position in those.
I hate waiting for league tables to come out. It's so hard to judge where you'll end up as you tend to only know the results of a few schools (can you tell I'm a nervous teacher?).

The last decent league tables I saw were the Financial Times ones for 2012. That included ALL the schools in useful formats as well. Last years Telegraph ones were incomplete and therefore meaningless.

Hoping FT will publish a proper set again next yr.

thats absolutely right happy - they're not in the Times tables either - they just don't submit. so you can mentally add maybe 3 schools automatically at the top - westminster, St. Paul's girls, St. Paul's boys - and then a few more interspersed in the top 50 but it does show some relative rankings. If thats important to you.

I looked at the FT tables for 2012 and it included 2011 results (as well as 2010 and 2009). Again whilst these tables are more thorough they do not reflect the latest figures e.g. NLCS is not even on that list and others which are no longer top of that list if you look at past 3 years results. Agree with Gunz...I hope they publish another one this year. The telegraph has published latest tables but again many many schools have been omitted from this list. The tables that come out in Jan will probably include a more thorough list. For independent schools, I found the best schools league tables included most schools. It all depends on what you are looking for as all tables reflect different gradings etc.
