Did you attend secondary open evenings in year 5?

Several people have told me they did this then went again with their child in year 6. Is that normal? And how many schools did you visit?

We didn't but dc1 is pretty sure they just want to go to the local one. We will be visiting the schools when he starts year 6.

DH and I went at the end of Y4, with out DS to look at one school in a another town - just to rule it out.

We then looked at a further five schools, all in this town. DS1 could possibly have got into 4 of them.

We liked the first school so much, we went to another open evening with DS, in Y5, and then an open day in Y6, where we could see what the school was like during the day. Big decision, as we had so much choice, but we made the right one, and all of my DC will be going there.
