Well, I filled up the other one, so here's a nice new one to get us through dropping subjects, Uni open days, personal statement writing, and UCAS applications Grin

Plenty of Wine and Brew and (nicely-intentioned) Biscuits available!

Thought dd's must have gone by now, but no. Head of 6th form emailed her on Friday as she had to change something to do with how her IGCSEs were listed (Eng Lit and Lang), and this morning she woke up and realised she hadn't listed as pending her Latin AS which she's doing this year! So glad it hadn't gone. Hope it's sorted today and might finally get submitted.

Good luck MrsBartlet's DD!

webwiz · 06/10/2014 15:17

I know DS's hasn't gone yet because he had to have his PS released back to him because there was a very small error in it (a missing capital letter). Then of course once he had it back he started tweaking it again Hmm So final final version of PS was submitted yesterday evening and hopefully the whole thing will go over the next couple of days.

MrsBartlet · 06/10/2014 15:20

Thanks, hellsbells99! I am really impatient for her to hear back now but then I remember that I don't want to wish this year away because I feel like once we get to this time next year, everything will change forever Sad

webwiz · 06/10/2014 15:52

I hope she hears back quickly MrsBarlet. I'm not sure that DS will keep me up to date when his application finally goes in - he isn't great at passing on information.

MrsBartlet · 06/10/2014 16:00

Mmm - I have a ds like that webwiz!

AtiaoftheJulii · 06/10/2014 16:59

Yes, a nice early offer or two would be nice for Ms Bartlet Smile One girl at dd's school has an offer already! (Psychology at Cardiff.)

OP posts:
Leeds2 · 06/10/2014 17:15

Is the girl an exceptional candidate, Atia? Or do Cardiff just make offers early?

MrsBartlet · 06/10/2014 17:15

Really? I was thinking it would be at least 3 weeks before any offers may start to come through as that is when dd's friends in the year above started to get them. Perhaps Cardiff really want the girl at your dd's school or else they are just super-efficient.

hellsbells99 · 06/10/2014 17:18

DD won't get any early offers not that she has finished her application yet as she will have to go for interviews. Hoping for an offer by Christmas!

webwiz · 06/10/2014 17:30

DD2 had an offer from Exeter less than a week after they had got her UCAS application so some universities can be very quick to respond.

MrsBartlet · 06/10/2014 17:50

That is encouraging webwiz as Exeter are one of the 3 to have confirmed receipt of dd's application.

webwiz · 06/10/2014 18:12

That was for Maths though MrsBartlet the English department may be slower!

I think Durham and Bristol are the ones that can be very slow.

MrsBartlet · 06/10/2014 18:35

Ah - I will keep calm then Grin

Dd had a friend who heard just before Christmas from Durham last year. Interestingly, they are one of the 2 who haven't confirmed receipt of her form yet!

Littleham · 06/10/2014 19:10

My dd1 (applied last year in November) heard from Royal Holloway really early, followed by Bristol, Warwick and Bath (December / January), whereas Durham was around Easter, so it can be very variable.

MrsBartlet · 07/10/2014 17:16

Dd has just got her first offer Grin AAA from York to read English. She hadn't even had a confirmation email from them!

Mindgone · 07/10/2014 18:05

Well done Miss Bartlet! Great news!

webwiz · 07/10/2014 18:21

Oh thats goods news MrsBartlet (goes off to nag DS about where his application is up to)

Raidne · 07/10/2014 18:23

How exciting, MrsBartlet. It is such a relief to get that first offer!! Smile

Ds will be applying to York so fingers crossed the Chemistry department is as quick as the English department.

Leeds2 · 07/10/2014 19:01

Well done, Mrs Bartlett. As long as your DC gets an offer, I can imagine this time is quite exciting!

As a sixth former, we used to go to lectures at York and it seemed a lovely place.

MrsBartlet · 07/10/2014 19:19

Thanks everyone - she is very excited as we think she is the first one from her school to get an offer.

Leeds2 I went to York myself and it is indeed lovely!

AtiaoftheJulii · 07/10/2014 21:00

Yay! Brilliant :-)

Dd's form doesn't seem to have left school yet. Keep asking her if she's heard anything!

cathyandclaire · 07/10/2014 21:03

Oh well done to your DD MrsB how fantastic to get an early offer, we love near York and it is a great place.

Leeds2 · 07/10/2014 21:51

How many of your offspring have chosen a place near to home? So that they could live at home?

MrsBartlet · 07/10/2014 22:02

Dd hasn't. Her nearest one is just over an hour away but she wouldn't live at home. 3 of them are over 200 miles away and 1 is about 150 miles. What about your dc?
