Hello

I might be moving to East Barnet and want honest opinions re East Barnet School? do you feel your children are well looked after and given all the opportunities that a good comprehensive school can offer? Many thanks!!!

I'm bumping this even though it's from last year as we're also interested in moving possibly to East Barnet, so any opinions about East Barnet school and/or Mill Hill County would be great!

This post was from last year but I'm bumping as I'm also interested in finding out about East Barnet School and/or Mill Hill County (we're exploring moving to East Barnet or High Barnet).

bumping again to get some opinions about East Barnet school. Anyone?

Hi, No direct experience but I'm not sure (based on friends experiences) that you would necessarily get in from High Barnet. Obviously depends on exact address and will change year on year - but historically only likely from waiting list if at all.

Yes, High Barnet is outside the catchment for East Barnet School. We're thinking of moving to the area closer to the school

My understanding is that East Barnet is an excellent comprehensive. Particularly good for sport & humanities. Though I think the catchment area is quite small? Barnet council school website shows the last postcode to be admitted for the last few years. High Barnet is way too far out. East & some parts of new Barnet would be in the catchment.

Catchment areas in North London are tiny.
Mill Hill County is partially selective with a tough entrance exam. In practice it is almost totally selective as all the other places go to siblings or the other children on the critera list.
Like Dame Alice - you would need to live in the playground to get in on catchment area.
East Barnet is an ok comp as far as I know.

Not particularly useful but our neighbours teenager goes there and he is the most charming teenage boy I've ever spoken to!

Since posting this (a while ago) I have got reviews from various local parents for East Barnet School, all of whom sang its praises. It seems to be a good option in that area.

Hi. Any suggestions of good schools in Barnet? By good, I mean the kids treat each other very well and are polite to each other (good manners background)
