I just wondered, in humanities what end of year 7 SATs levels do you think the top set for year 8 would be? (Our school sets History, Geography, RE, Music and Drama together). The question also goes for a language (started only at beginning at year 7), English, Maths and Science?

I guess in depends on the type of school/intake!

DD is at a comp & top sets for everything. At the end of year 7 she was:

6b/7b/6b for core (Eng/maths/sci)
7c/6a/5b for humanities (geog/hist/RE)
4a MFL (French)
6c/5a/6c arts (art/drama/music)

By the end of year 8 she was 6c for both French & German & 6a for RE - so there's a big jump in levels for things the haven't done before in year 8.

I expect selective school would have higher levels?

(I'm not completely obsessed with her levels btw - just had them to hand because the school has just emailed me her summary file & timetable for next year! Smile )

My DS almost identical to MrsZ and he is in top sets for everything and got the top mark in the school in the science test (teacher told me this)
Comp school and mixed ability.
