Sir Roger Manswood's School in Kent, plesae comment

We are working overseas and I would like to apply the state boarding school for year 9 entry for my daughter
I would like to hear someone who has DD/DS/friend there at the moment.
Please share your comment on
Academic standard/ teacher support/ pastoral care, /if the students are friendly/school facilities …etc.
My daughter is a bit shy and not proactive. I would like her to study in caring and friendly environment.

DCs not there but it is on our radar as 2 lots of friends have been looking closely at it.

Good reputation, considered to be a great all-round school. It has a far lower profile than Cranfield despite having same set-up. Probably because less sporty. Facilities are apparently lovely.

Numbers dropped a few years ago because of combination of (a) Langton Boys suddenly becoming one of the top state schools in the country because of effects of the physics specialisation, and (b) closure of Pfizer which led to pretty much every MC family in the immediate area losing at least one income and having to leave the area (was awful at the time, every school in area scarred by it).

But, tide now turning as a result of (a) Langton boys now turned super selective and (b) the grammar in Canterbury may/may not be relocating, causing a bit of concern. So numbers and demand for sir RM now back up. But still much easier to get into than Cranfield.

your DD will still need to get through 11+ comfortably. Have never heard of children joining in yr 9 as year 7 is standard - are you sure they have places? If it is too late for her to sit 11+ then maybe you will only have Cranfield as an option.
