Hi,

just got my daughters first mock results through and her scores are very disappointing at 45% ... She has appeared through cem pattern ...usually when practicing her scores have never been so low...
I would like. To know if any of you have had any such experiences and any pointers of help would be great.
Any help or experience on this is highly appreciated.

I don't have any experience with this. You might find helpful discussions on the 11+ Forum. Just google 11+ forum.

Being very cynical here, but does company you did the mocks though also do tutoring??

Ds1's mock results came back as awful, much to our, and his, surprise. A few days later we got an email from the company telling us, for a fee, how he could improve. We didn't take them up on their kind offer and be went on to absolutely ace the real thing.

It is such a stressful time, please don't let anyone panic you, or DD. Good luck.

Thank you toomanyhouseguest for your suggestion.

@wineoclocktimeye...yes they do and something has struck me whilst reading your post. When I went back to them yesterday requesting for my DD's solved paper, they have refused to have it sent to us, instead offered to do a 121 review with her on the Same paper for a charge of £75... This is throwing some light here... As her tutor or us were totally perplexed with the results...thanks a lot

Interesting. My DS also just got a low mark in a mock CEM test by a Bucks tutor.

Really disheartened me, and I felt we should give up.

Would be brilliant if the tutor deliberately marked it hard to get business. I am very skeptical about how much they know about the new CEM test.......

So it seems there is no way to find out how our kids are doing before the test.

@edgeofnowhere...I think what wineoclocktimeye says makes sense... I can totally understand how you and your DS must be feeling seeing the results, as we felt the same .
After talking to many of my friends n colleagues who have been through this process I feel we shouldn't give up after coming such long way...actual things might be far better
All the best to you and your DS

Dd did the CEM test last year in Bexley. The tests are very long, almost impossible to finish, so speed is key.

Dd didn't finish but she did pass, so all is not lost if your dc can't get through it. I would work on speed and exam technique over the summer. It's not unusual for tutors not to release test papers.

@bigbirdflies .. Thank you so much for your help... I agree speed is key..
