Dartford Grammar & SEN

I am looking for opinions about the SEN provision at Dartford Grammar (the boys' school) and what the attitude to SEN is at the school.

I have read the policy document, which is pretty standard, but I wanted to see if anyone had any experience of sending a boy with SEN to this particular school?

I have no experience of sending a boy there with SEN, however, I went to this school and so did my brother. Neither of us were aware of any SEN boys in our year groups / at the school. Not to say there weren't any there but it certainly was not well known. I wouldn't even know who the SEN teacher is/was.

However, my brother and I absolutely loved our time at this school and if you get a place I would definitely go!

Beths Grammar School in Bexley has specialist provision for boys with autism. Not too far away from DG.

That's interesting, stone. DS is not autistic, but I'm guessing if they have provision for boys with ASD, they will have provision for other SEN. Beth's is actually closer to us, as well.

Thanks for your input, too, hardestdecision. I have no doubt it's a really good school.

I have a friend whose ds has a dx of HFA and ADHD and he is doing very well at Wilmington Grammar.
My son is in Y10 at DGS and at least one of his mates is statemented but I am afraid I have no idea if his parents are happy with the SEN provision. DGS's specialism for SEN is for visual impairment and I know they offer great support there.
