We are considering relocating to be nearer family in Lincolnshire but they don't have children so would really appreciate some insider knowledge, specifically on the grammar schools. Also, nice places to live but not too remote. What are the following towns like, Louth, Horncastle or Boston? TIA

There's lots of development in the city of quirky, designery new builds (ie not Barratt boxes) but you wouldn't be getting workshops and lots of garden with those.

The most expensive area is the Welton/Sudbrooke/Nettleham triangle because of catchment for Wm Farr but proximity to the city.

Will find you some examples for those villages plus the Branston school catchment villages.

Property in Welton etc tends to fly off the market, although I reckon a lot of the market is buoyant around here (really rural parts less so).

Ok, I can't find anything at the moment in catchment for Wm Farr in budget...told you it was popular.

Actually there's very little Georgian stock I think in Lincoln and surrounding villages. Lots more out Louth way.

Lots of 1930s housing stock in Lincoln...

This is practically on the doorstep of Branston Academy. www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-45452438.html?premiumA=true

Gosh, I've never seen so few properties available here. Must be flying off the market. How's the Somerset market?!

I live in a little seaside town in Lincolnshire but work in Lincoln. It depends what you want, but Louth and Horncastle are lovely market towns with good Grammar schools. As in any selective area the Grammars cream off the top % so the comps/secondary moderns might not be as good as comps in non selective areas.
Louth has a cinema, a local theatre group, decent shops although not big department stores.
