Dyscalculia - diagnosis, symptoms and action

I think my dd may have dyscalculia. She's 13 and cannot learn her times tables, still counts on her fingers and doesn't remember simple number bonds (eg if you ask her to add 27+10 she'll count on 10 on her fingers).

Does anyone have a child with dyscalculia? How was it diagnosed and what happens in school - do they have more time, equipment, a TA?

As far as I'm aware, the only offical who can make the diagnosis is an Ed Psych.

Ronit Bird is a good place to start looking for info. Shes very well respected in this field.

I had a look at her website, it's really interesting, thanks!
