National 5 exams - How is it going?

How are your DCs finding the exams?

DD1 said that English was a wee bit harder than the prelim but Maths was a lot easier. The History paper had the exact same first question as the SQA practice paper so that pleased her. Having rushed through the last topic to finish the syllabus was not so helpful but apparently she remembered some info from Horrible Histories that she drew on!

Not looking forward to next week with French, Chemistry, Biology and Drama.

Not good. Dis will not study at all. He also missed paper 1 of math. I am so stressed and disappointed. Hmm

That must be really hard Belini. I guess there is nothing you can do really.

We have to let them make their own mistakes...

DS says English and maths were fine, but he said that about some if his prelims where he didn't do well.
It's a long wait to results in August

deepinthewoods · 08/05/2014 09:21

Seems fine so far, history English and maths now under the belt, DS quietly confident. Four more to go. He siad they were easier than the prelims, so fingers crossed.
Such a difficult time, these S4s have been dumped in it.

DS found maths straightforward, and he's feeling ready for chemistry next week. I've downloaded the last few Int 2 papers (with answers) for him to work through over the weekend to make sure it's not false optimism!

deepinthewoods · 08/05/2014 15:50

That's a good idea squirrel- do you have links to those Int2 Chemistry papers?

SquirrelledAway · 08/05/2014 18:50

On the SQA website here.

Just plug in your subject and which exam level you're looking for.

Dd said English was great, music was 'easy', History was just fine but Maths was tricky. We've found an answered maths paper on the net and she was right, it was tricky!

She's praying that she gets a B so she can leave Maths behind for ever.

Thanks squirrel- but of course son already has it- I am one step behind!!
