I am currently posted overseas with my family on a 3 year posting which started about 16 months ago. I have two children currently in Year 6 and 3. We are likely to be here for another school year which means that we will reentering the schools at Year 8 and 5 respectively.

So my question is whether anyone has done this? What their experience has been on getting into private schools like Godolfin Upper, Godolfin Latymer, Holland Park School (state), North London Collegiate, UCS, Highgate School. I am most worried about the fact that she is at a British School here but we have not had the same level of tutoring that others kids have when they are prepping for their 11+ exams.

Thanks in advance.

May I suggest this who are probably well placed to advise you. They assist lots of families from other countries and I expect yours will be a simple issue they can help resolve.

Thanks to those who posted this. I have to get a move on and start thinking about it.

Re Holland Park your year 8 has no chance unless you live next door. You could try for your year 5 in the normal admissions round but they need to be fairly close within or good at art and apply by the normal cutoff at the end of October. Then try for sibling connection. I would not recommend that school if you have the means to go private - I am a current parent.
