S hemisphere moving to N - an IB question

We live in Australia and my dd is due to start her IB in January when she is 16. Mid year there is a chance we will relocate somewhere in the Northern Hemisphere.
Does anyone know if she would be able to restart the IB in September when school starts without some sort of penalty?
She is keen to start the IB in January especially as we won't know about the relocation until March and there are a few possible countries. There is a slight chance it won't happen and she would be devastated to miss out totally.

When is your dd's birthday? If she turns 16 in January 2015 if you came to the UK she'd be starting sixth form in September 2015 so would be starting A-level or IB syllabus then so I can't imagine it would be a problem to restart the ib

I teach the IB in the N hemisphere and we have had several students come up from Australia over the years.

It has never seemed an issue that they might already have started their IB course.

Thank you both for your encouraging replies. It was a relocation agent that said she thought there would be a penalty applied if dd started in Jan in Aust and then restarted in Sept elsewhere. I've written to the school but they are on Easter break - dd v keen to have question resolved so thank you! She will be 16 in Dec and only interested in doing the International Baccalaureate which is why she chose her current school ......

I'd have thought she would just restart the two year IB course in September. If you are coming to the UK, why don't you phone an international school like Marymount (Kingson) and see what they advise.

Good point there Windy. Have you spoken to your current school to see how they would deal with students moving from NH to SH?

No I haven't, bit tricky as current school won't be happy re withdrawal and would rather give them minimum notice. Haven't ever come across N to S re IB - will make further enquiries once schools reopen.
