Altrincham schools

Hello,

We are looking at schools in this area for 2 children, one will be on year 7 and one in year 5 . We have lived abroad for the last 3 years and think we will need to come back to a fee paying school, simply because of class sizes etc, can anyone give any recommendations for this area please ? Year 5 : Bowdon Prep (girls), Altrincham Prep (boys), Hale Prep (mixed), Loreto Prep (girls) St Ambrose Prep (boys, in process of changing to state) (all based within walking distance of Altrincham town centre). Forest School in Timperly (not too far out).

Year 7 : No independents right in the centre of Altrincham at high school level other than North Cestrian (mixed, currently private but applying to become a free school) so you might have to go further afield, Alderley Edge (girls), Withington Girls, Manchester High School (girls), Cheadle Hulme, Manchester Grammar (boys).

Those are the ones that spring to mind straight away but there are quite a few dotted around (Knutsford, Wilmslow, Macclesfield).
