Ok. DS1 has broken up for Easter and we now have to all accept that this is it. He has been doing dribs and drabs since mocks in February and an hour- ish in the evenings of stuff set by teachers.

Nowhere near what I remember doing for my o'levels a million miles ago. Friends tell me their kids are doing nothing yet. Not sure I believe them though!

Waiting for reality to kick in with him but he still seems to be treating it all like an end of topic test in class!

What's happening in your house? Are you staying well out of it or like me walking round waving a CGP guide 24/7!!!!!

DD says OCR Ethics was ok, she finished everything in plenty of time.
She grabbed maths teacher in lunch, so I picked her up and her nose is in her geog textbook.

She's doing flooding in Sheffield, I was born there, she has family reasons not to forget some of the place names.

(I loved my geog map questions. Coast at Mevagissey, DDad's favourite holiday evening was look at boats eating fish and chops there.)

marymoocow · 12/05/2014 16:49

DS had ethics today. He came home happy, however he is known for not writing enough detail. Out of 12 available pages he used 4Hmm oh well...Biology and geography tomorrow here too

yourlittlesecret · 12/05/2014 17:10

RE here as well plus French. DS came down with a filthy cold on Saturday so went in dosed up.
He says it went well and he never has to do French EVER AGAIN Grin

LIZS · 12/05/2014 17:37

ds worrying about whether he numbered his Ethics answers correctly .

MrsMaturin · 12/05/2014 18:32

Dd seems happy with French. But sad she's finished with the subject Hmm Biology for us tomorrow. I think she's actually looking forward to that. Freakish child.

HercShipwright · 12/05/2014 18:46

DS said French was ok. It's the only one he's doing this year, he's only in y9 but that's how they do it at his school. He's not very good at French (sitting on a couple of As and a B on his CAs). Am very Shock at his comment about today's papers and concerned that he has either missed out chunks or missed the point of some (all?) of the questions. His CA marks aren't a true indicator of his knowkedge because of course they were rigorously prepared for and he does have a good memory. Understanding is a different issue (where French is concerned. He's good at maths. But not taking that till the normal time).

Leeds2 · 12/05/2014 18:52

Yourlittlesecret, my DD cannot wait until Wednesday when she can say the same about Spanish!

Thank you whoever suggested revising abortion law for the RS exam today. Apparently it was the 8 mark question!

Sadly my ds told me yesterday, very firmly, when I asked him if he knew it, that they only needed to know what Christians thought, that the textbook didn't really talk about the law. you can lead a horse to water.....

Isingsoprano - so do I btw - my DS also very chuffed to have finished French. Not his thing at all, although he said he thought it went OK.

Biology and Geography tomorrow. He's been revising geography and said he just needs to bang on about sustainability. Sounds a teensy bit too easy to me . . . .

Ohwhatfuckeryisthis · 12/05/2014 23:38

French was the first for miss fuckery. She said one was hard, but ok. History Thursday. (They don't do examined re) and Spanish wed (I think)

hellsbells99 · 13/05/2014 07:39

Biolgy and geography here today as well. DD was desparately going over the case studies again last night. Good luck all.

hellsbells99 · 13/05/2014 07:48

desperately

MrsMaturin · 13/05/2014 07:57

Back to feeling sick again. Dd loves biology and it's one of her A-level choices. PLEASE PLEASE let today go well!

I seriously need to get a grip on myself! She looks fine. I am a wreck. Though concealing it........

LIZS · 13/05/2014 08:04

Chemistry today , not his forte but he's been revising hard.

napoleonsnose · 13/05/2014 08:15

Biology and Geography here too today. DD hates anything sciency and is dreading the Biology. Happy with Geography though as its one of her favourites.

Nocomet · 13/05/2014 08:19

Geog today, DD totally calm and refusing to do any revision last night.

Me not so calm, I had a complicated dream about being so warped up in helping my DSIS revise I'd forgotten I had a geography exam tomorrow. When I opened the book (at 9.30 pm) I didn't remember doing any of it.

Nocomet · 13/05/2014 08:30

We're doing double science here and it's all after 1/2 term.

Since DD could easily have done triple (long story) that should be OK.

Almost Envy of people doing biology, that was my light relief subject.

LIZS · 13/05/2014 08:32

We're double science and it's 2 papers(C & P) this week and 1 (B) next ! Boards must differ. Neither dh nor I did much science so not of any real help .

Dunlurking · 13/05/2014 08:36

Well thanks for that tip Coconutty

Biology for ds this morning as well. He was revising glucose regulation (for the first time) this morning and tried to tell me all about insulin levels being tested in hospitals and stem cell transplants, but didn't realise that type 1 diabetics inject insulin before meals and test their own blood sugar levels....not a good sign methinks.

eatyourveg · 13/05/2014 08:45

Geography here too. Should be fine - its his strongest subject.
Yesterday's RE second paper was a dodgy one, ds (ASD) didn't realise death penalty and capital punishment were the same thing and whilst he could rant for pages on the death penalty, he thought capital punishment was something to do with prison sentencing! I should have checked he knew, I've only been testing him on a few subjects when he's asked.

The stress is beginning to take its toll, he's been having a lot of arguments with the English teacher who sent him out of the class yesterday because he told her she should stop shouting at the class moaning about how they need to work hard and instead she needed to just get on and teach them. He then went on to tell her that everyone knew she was nervous and stressy but she shouldn't take it out on the class! Didn't go down well (except with his peers)

MissScatterbrain · 13/05/2014 08:46

RE yesterday, Biology and Geography today for us too.

So glad exams are now finally under way...

LeapingOverTheWall · 13/05/2014 08:49

DD2 had a massive panic at midnight last night because she was't as stressed as she felt she ought to be Confused. And then this morning she set off for school having forgotten half her lunch and most of her medication. Thankfully DD3 leaves the house later, and can be bribed to ferry stuff in for her big sister Grin.

We just need to get started, once today is over, the stress levels will settle I think apart from next Monday's marathon.

yourlittlesecret · 13/05/2014 09:15

Seems everyone has Biology and Geography today.

DS1 handed all his stuff over to DS2 when he finished GCSEs two years ago but there is no DC3 so DS2 actually burned all his French books last night. I was a bit Hmm but he said it was therapeutic.
