Charity donations at school

You know when children are asked to bring in 50p or a £1 or the likes for wearing mufti/dressing up etc and the class teacher may collect the money in? What do you think of a teacher asking the children in his class to pay some extra money towards it (very small amount) because some children took part in the activity but didn't actually contribute any money towards it? So the teacher tells the class that they each need to pay a small portion of it and he will have to make up the difference.

Not sure what the suggestion is.
It's usually a voluntary donation for the school's chosen charity. There isn't a "set amount" that each form has to raise - they donate, in total, what the class as a whole brings in. Some might bring more than the suggestions, some less, some nothing at all, but the point is, it's an easy way to raise quite a bit of money and the charity receiving the money is usually very grateful for what it receives - it doesn't ask where the rest is is it "only" receives £500 from a school with 750 pupils.

The teacher should just hand in what the children give him. You cannot make children bring in money nor "fine" the other children for the non-payment of their classmates. Bizarre attitude frankly!
