Boarding school - close to London - boy or co-ed

Hello,

Any suggestion for boarding schools for DS currently in year 5.
Has to be max 1h30 away from London with possibility to go home on weekends. Weekly boarding perfect. Boys only or co-ed. Sailing possibility is a +.

Looking for more ideas as my list is a bit short (wellington, tonbridge, Bradfield, Abingdon).

St George's - Harpenden -

Mill Hill in NW London does weekly and termly boarding and the Navy section of the cadet force does lots of sailing.

Which side of London are you?

Oakham might just fall within your 'to consider' radius if you're to the north, and it's right by Rutland Water for sailing. You need to change trains at Peterborough, but journey is easy by rail (Uppingham worth looking at too, but no rail line).

Second Cranleigh...easy to get to, fab school.
