Neither are boarding, but both QEGS and silcoates would suit your son. Silcoates is less academically selective than QEGS but it's top end always does well, one of my sone went there and his A level biology class results were 100% A/A*.
Ackworth always has some supporters, but as a Quaker school they don't play contact sports, specifically rugby so it would depend on what sports your son is into.
Always been underwhelmed with Hill House in Doncaster, kids seem pretty uncivilised.

QEGS and Silcoates don't offer boarding. Ackworth is sporty but doesn't offer rugby gor boys (hockey or football instead).

Worksop College or York schools are slightly further away but offer boarding options.

I totally disagree with the previous post, my experience of Hill House pupils and the school couldn't be more positive. (But totally irrelevant as it too does not offer boarding options).
