Separate board needed for Private Schools?

MrsBright · 04/02/2014 21:48

Whilst I appreciate that those of you interested in a private education for your children want to discuss it, I suspect I am not alone in finding the endless succession of 'St Trinians or Eton?' threads irritating. Even more irritating is the 'Obscure local school in the South East vs another Obscure local school in the South East?' since only 1 person in 1,000 will even have heard of these schools never mind have any meaningful opinion of them.

PLEASE - could we get the private school stuff off onto another page so that this board could be about educational issues only and not the private school version of Trip Advisor?

That is worrying

wordfactory · 05/02/2014 20:40

Ah MrsB I see.

You're used to people listening to what you say and doing as they're told.

But here's the thing; this aint school and we aint children Grin...

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 05/02/2014 20:41

Quinteszilla · 05/02/2014 20:42

Or do you home ed them? Wink

Minutewaltz · 05/02/2014 20:44

YetAnotherHelenMumsnet · 05/02/2014 20:51

Evening all,
we think now might be a good time to remind everyone on the thread about our talk guidelines.

Bowlersarm · 05/02/2014 20:59

(Are you on the concurrent thread started by the OP - it's a good one!)

AuntieStella · 05/02/2014 20:59

I think rehashing deleted posts also counts as a breach of talk guidelines.

Personal attacks are a breach of talk guidelines, of course.

Slipshodsibyl · 05/02/2014 21:00

I believe Mrs Bright is a university lecturer.

YetAnotherHelenMumsnet · 05/02/2014 21:28

Hi, have you reported the PAs, Forago? I'm doing my best to keep up here but would certainly welcome more eyes on the board. Cheers!

YetAnotherHelenMumsnet · 05/02/2014 21:30

Ah right, x-post. Keep the reports coming, folks. Or, ya know, stop insulting each other. Either way. Grin

scottishmummy · 05/02/2014 21:36

I think the op is displaying a huge prejudice.she thinks private school=horah's
But it's ok to discuss state school and catchment ad infinitum?because applies to you
It's a topic folks want to discuss, doesn't float my bait but the prejudice is appalling
