Mine went to OXSS in Oxford. We were reasonably happy and some tutors really got into what the issues were. Some students are there trying to get a reasonable grade and some trying to get a high A so variable standards of students. They have evening entertainment, eg cinema, quiz etc

Roisin · 01/02/2014 21:50

CCSS in Cambridge do them I think.

Lilymaid · 01/02/2014 21:56

DS did some at CCSS which were good - but they weren't residential.

bruffin · 02/02/2014 09:08

Thanks but it doesnt look like CCSS only do AQA for maths but Oxss say they are not exam specific.

Just tried to look at CCSS, but Easter Revision link page no longer available. Wonder if full, no longer on or just a tech issue.

bruffin · 02/02/2014 09:37

How about finding really good ones close to home? Maybe less distractions?

bruffin · 03/02/2014 07:57

Thanks

There really isn't anything local. We are on the Cambridge/London line so DS would have have to commute into London daily, which is a waste of two hours a day.

DS has gone with the Wellington course. There really isnt any time for distraction, they are time tabled from when they get up until they go to bed including time for some sports.
DS is paying for 2/3rds of this so he does appreciate the cost involved and realises its an investment in his future

Does his school run Easter revision courses for the students? A lot of schools do this.

seimum · 03/02/2014 11:54

Has anyone used the revision courses run by Harrow school (not residential). I'm thinking of sending DS

circular · 03/02/2014 13:17

Thanks, just realised not right board for Maths - need OCR for both Maths & Physics.
Anyone know of any decent Central London non-residential courses?
