is there a way of downloading a book without having a kindle?

ds needs to have read a certain book by monday...I bought it off amazon last week, it still hasnt arrived, am not sure whats going on....we are trying all the local bookstores and are getting nowhere..its called "Billy the kid" by micheal morpurgo, can anyone advise me if I can download it to a pc or an ipad mini..many thanks

You can get all sorts of apps for reading books on non-Kndle devices. Eg you can get a kindle app on your ipad, or use Apple's own e-reader, iBooks.

I've just had a look and there doesn't seem to be an e version unfortunately.

In the future if books do have an eversion you can buy them and download the kindle app to pc/ipad and read it on there.
