I am confused, will be contacting school in morning, but can anyone guide me.?
DD is in year 10. Struggling with science, obviously not taking seperate sciences and have been told she will be following GCSE applied science in year 11. Her teacher said she will be taking an exam in this summer and mocks in Feb. so what will this be? Is there a foundation level?

Additional applied science gcse. My dd did it. 60% course work and 40% exam. Tiered entry for the exam. It is not however an easy option. It's the only exam my dd didn't pass (got a D) because the teacher was too generous with his marking of the coursework. He assessed it as a B and it got moderated down to a D.

For double Science (both ordinary and Applied) there are 2 parts: the core (unit 1) is often taken in Y10 and the additional (unit 2) in Y11.
Both foundation and higher tiers are available.
