Gads Hill School or Farringdons School?

Hi

Our child has gained a place at both of these schools for entry in year 7 in September 2014. We have no experience of either of these schools apart from going to look around. Any advice or information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Well mine are at Gads (one infant, one junior) and I honestly can't fault it. I am a primary teacher, for what it's worth. No experience yet of secondary but hope to keep mine there as long as finances will allow!

Thanks Chigley1. If they went there they would have to get the 136 bus. Do you know if many of the children get the bus there in the morning? It's a shame Gads don't run a school bus :-(

I'm not sure tbh, but I often see some pupils waiting at the bus stop after school so I guess some do. A school bus would be handy but pupils are scattered so far and wide I couldn't see it working.

Thank you Chigley.

Does anybody have any recent experiences of farringdons school?

Thanks

No experience as such but seems to be popular with those who did not pass 11+ in Bexley. Not sure why.

Yes I had noticed that. Wondered what they offer or provide over and above a state comprehensive school really?

Do you mean Farringtons in Chislehurst?
It offers small class sizes and very good pastoral care. It is not academically selective. The buildings and grounds are very pretty.
People go there from my dcs' primary every year and yes, they are usually the ones who missed out on the local grammars. I think satisfaction levels are high, it's not a school we looked at, but you never hear anything bad about it locally.
