Hi Mumsnet- Does anyone know if it is possible to sit Common Entrance Scholarship Exams for 2 schools and also without the other school knowing. Undecided and scholarship/bursary required to obtain a little assistance with fees therefore trying to cover all options.

The CE papers are marked by the destination school, and you will have to have notified the ISEB of your final choice of school by March in the year your DC take the exam. I assume the same goes for scholarship papers, as they are taken at the same time.

So no, no I don't see how you could sit for two schools.

Thanks, I thought it was slightly different for scholarship papers as the schools usually set their own?.

If the scholarship exam is a free-standing competitive entrance exam, then yes it can be possible to sit as many of those as you want.

You can however only hold one CE offer.

Would you still need to put down a first choice school if you are not taking the CE for those schools but taking scholarship exam instead?

Typically they are scheduled to take place at same time , ether CAS or school specific ones (which can be residential).

IME not all scholarship exams are scheduled on the same day. My friends DS say the Harrow scholarship and another sat the Eton scholarship and they definitely weren't on the same day although I think Eton and a Win Coll do theirs on the same day. OP can't your head advise you?

Lovejazz I have PM'd you.

Lizs, Happygardening - thanks for your feedback, I will speak to the Headmaster for further assistance.
