Can anyone help on how to prepare children for exam, do I need to get a special tutor or something, my son has 2 yrs to get ready for it. But I don't know where to start

OP I think you mentioned on another thread that your Ds is at a prep school at the moment. They will prepare him and give you any advice you need.

Which school will he be taking CE for?

OP is your DC in yr 6 therefore just under 2 1/2 yrs to go before CE or yr 7 and just under 1 1/2 years to go before CE? Assuming your DC is trying to get into a school recommended by your head or you already has a conditional place at one and your school has an excellent track record of getting their pupils into their first choice of senior school I wouldn't worry about it at the moment. This is not to say parents at even top preps don't tutor their DC's for CE they do but most tutoring will be done in yr 8 often during the Easter holiday. Generally children will sit mock CE exams in the Lent term of yr 8 giving you and the school an idea of how much extra help they might need. The reality is that only a small % of children fail to get into their first choice of school by failing CE if they've attended a reputable prep and this is usually only into the super selectives.
