Has anyone heard of Vision Studio Schools????, (not very good at explaining!! and there is a Facebook page and Link.
My 13yr has applied, and will know March if successful!!
There are Studio Schools around the country, specialising in different careers (depending what is needed in local area).
In Mansfield, it is Engineering and Social care.
Pupils will do core subjects, Maths, English etc, and will get one day a week practical work experience,.

Not heard of vision school , have heard of studio school one which are computer based in this area and share buildings and facilities with the Utc . Both school start from 14 and cover both gcse , a levels and btech type courses . So kids start in year ten .
They are growing in populatority , do lots of different innovation type stuff and do placements within varying companies that support them . It's a long day for them as school from nine to five , to mirror working life .
So far in our area it seems to be going very well and recruiting especially for sixth form is going well, they only been open for one term.
As regards exams at moment can only hope they do well but standard of teaching according to child I know is good , brilliant in sixth form as they get to do so much more than year tens. Saying that child I know says there is still one or two kids who mess about during lessons. Suppose that's any high school for you , there is always one or two who like to be noticed.
