Secondary school (Brentwood area) - Advise re SEN

I've posted this on the Special needs and children thread too but...

Can anyone offer advise and recommendations?

We are looking at schools for DS (ASD, ADD, Sensory) who is high functioning but with ADD, lacking organisation, constant motivation, in need of laptop as difficulty with writing etc.

As all parents, we are now in the throws of checking secondary schools and my head is about to explode

How do you pick the right one? Does anyone on here have children with SEN who go to any of these schools that can recommend the support they've received from the SEN team/departments?

I know its child specific, each child is different etc, but any help/feedback on experiences would be gratefully appreciated.

Thanks

I don't have a child with SEN, but do know the Brentwood schools. Have you considered Becket Keys? It has a small intake and only two year groups at the moment. They should be able to offer great support I would imagine, but I don't know any specifics. Maybe you could request a one to one meeting with each school you are considering with the relevant staff. Worth a try. Good luck.

I will be visiting the school, but over the phone they said they do not offer one to one nor offer a designated LSA. They promote independence, which is fair enough, that's what we all want, but he does need support at points during the day and I'm not sure lots of Different people and no specific contact for him or us, is going to work. However, I don't know how other schools work, but to me, this poses a problem.
