KS3 revision guides?

I want to get some for Ds1, yr8.

To act as reference books between now and the end of yr 9 and to help with revision, as his hand written class notes are rubbish tbh !

I looked in WH Smith today and left thoroughly confused. Any recommendations?

CpG ones are good overall

CGP are very good for Science (DS1 and DS2 were provided copies by their school).

We have found the BBC Bitesize website more helpful than CGP for History & Geography.

For Maths, practising questions is most useful.

sorry yes cgp! not what I first put.

It may be worth getting the work books that go with the revision guides as children learn more by doing than reading. It will help highlight the parts he does not understand.

Thank you. Do CGP do workbooks and revision guides? What are they actually called? When i looked in Smiths there were practise papers, course companions, revision guides etc and i had no idea what i wanted/needed

I found our Oxfam bookshop was very useful as I could get guides for £2 or £3. The only one I found essential was science.
Not so bothered about the others (though maths is probably also very useful but that's my degree so I could make up questions myself).

Generally I have found different publishers have very different styles. I and my DD much prefer the Letts ones as they are less 'busy' than the CGP ones. Take your DC in and have a look to see which look and feel they like best.
