DD 16 wants to be an Occupational Therapist. She has been volunteering at a SEN playscheme since she was 12 and has been awarded anaccreditation qualification, so has lots of experience in that area. They would give her a saturday/holiday job now but she is too young and they will only employ 18+

She is looking at options for 6th form at the moment but wants to stay at her school and wants to take a more academic route.
A level choices at the moment are probably
Maths
History
Physics
Biology or Psychology
which will fit in with a subjects required by Unis for a degree in Occupational Therapy.
However they do want work experience/ shadowing as a Occupational Therapist as well.
We have found out that a local hospital does a scheme allowing work experience one day a month.

Is this type of work experience feasible with academic rather than vocational route?

Definitely worth asking.
My friend has a DD who wants to teach and she has a work experience placement once a week in a local school. She goes to a sixth form college and is doing 3 A levels. They timetable two half days at this particular 6th form for enrichment or work experience.
