International School of Hague or British School in the Netherlands

Is there anybody here whose kids attend either?
I'd like to ask a few questions about your experiences.

BSN if cost isn't an issue, especially if you want British culture in an international environment and UK holidays to visit family/cousins in the UK etc etc. We were there for 3 years 6-7 years ago but I still know people with kids there.

Visit both and see what you think. I have two friends who sent their DC to BSN - one pulled both of his kids out to go to boarding school in the UK, and the other saw her kids through but was very unhappy with the education they received in recent years.

BSN used to have a fabulous reputation, but I think the headmaster moved to BSP a few years ago - maybe the ethos of the school has changed? Have a look at their results - are you keen that they do A levels or IB? Is one school more "British" than "International"?

When we moved to Paris, I was reasonably sure our two would end up at BSP, but it just didn't "feel" right for them, and they ended up at a school we nearly didn't bother visiting. I really do think you need to visit both and see which you feel happier with. My experience of British schools overseas is that it is very much a British "bubble" - which is great for making British friends, but you get more of a mix at the more international schools. DD1's friends from her first "British" overseas school were only British - it was very much the dominant nationality. Her friends from the last school were Korean, Japanese, Canadian, Spanish, Dutch, American and Israeli.
