i need some advice - i have a bright ten year old and we live equidistant from the above two schools but are having a hard time deciding which entrance exam to sit as they are both on same day.

is there anyone out there who has researched these two schools as well and is willing to share their thoughts?

Normally schools offer alternative days when there are clashes, so I'm sure you can do both- just pick one and contact them.
I have heard of the two schools, but don't know anything to distinguish between them. I think I've heard Abbey is more academic but that could be wrong!

I know a few girls who go to SWP. No idea on educational standards as it is not something we looked into for our DD but some of her friends went there and they all seem to like it. My DD has played netball against them and her school always gets thrashed by them!

Just checked the results almost identical. How do feel about the two schools? I am the 'other side' of Reading so have other choices, but The Abbey just wasn't for me or DD.

i have only heard fantastic things re SWP and know a couple of girls there who are thriving. If it wasn't so far away for us i would be seriously considering it.
It's a long day - coaches pick up in twickenham at 7.20 and leave school after 5pm after prep/clubs. Great for some parents, esp if working, but others think it is too long, unlike other schools the day is extended for all afaik.

haven't heard of Abbey.
