QE Boys, Barnet. go on the 11plus forum for Hertfordshire. Loads of threads on QE, including their infamous sixth form cull, based upon criteria only known to them!

Yes, have read all that. It looks scary to me. I just want to know if it is really so or these comments may also be a bit exaggerated?

My son went through it several years ago and it is apparently ongoing. If your DS is diligent and compliant to all of QEB demands (and who can predict that from any bright 11 who manages to get in ), he will be fine. Problem is that your son's ambitions might not marry up with QEB's intentions, and then his options can become extremely limited for Uni entry. That thread on 11plus forum reveals it, warts and all. It is not exaggerated.

Thanks ladybyron. Its so difficult to say at this stage if he would like it there or not. He was very impressed by the facilities and infrastructure there and so wants to go there. He obviously has no idea of the pressure he would go through.
