Can anyone link to good explanatory sites to help DS1 with Maths? He's 'ok' but hasn't made as much progress as he'd've liked in Y9. He got 6 high in his latest report, for what that's worth.

I have a Mathswatch DVD, but do you think Khan might be better? BBC Bitesize?

Sorry, I know this question gets asked over and over again- I'm happy for anyone to link to someone else's OP!

TIA.

We recently discovered Hegarty Maths which gives really clear explanations and covers KS3-5. I don't think it includes exercises to do, just video clips explain different concepts. Does the school subscribe to conquermaths or mymaths? Both very good and automatically marked.

try and find out if there are any particular areas he needs help with
ask the teacher for extra examples in those areas
good teaching & good examples and lots of practice is the key

Hilary Koll & Steve Mills activity books are very good
