GCSE higher paper Maths - online resources

Kez100 · 08/09/2013 13:10

My son is dyslexic and finds working with the computer much easier than textbooks. He has asked if I would help him find (and subscribe/buy if necessary) access to online resources for his Maths in year 11 (he already has Grade C foundation paper passed).

He already has access to MyMaths, so would like a different system.

Anyone have any recommendations to make?

The bbc gcse sites are quite good

CIMT have some very useful resources, but the site is tricky to navigate.

I tend to use google to search with the terms 'CIMT' and the topic I need- e.g. 'trigonometry' to find the pages quickly. There seems to be a mix of textbook (teaching and questions) and interactive sections like this

Has his school got a (free) manga high account? A teacher could allocate a load of appropriate lessons for him. Or you could buy your own access but you'll see from the link that it's pricey. (you could always email them and ask for a better deal for one student).

If you click on the maths games tab and go to prodigi at the bottom, you can see a selection of lessons.

Over the summer holiday I got my ds a 1 month sub to Learner's Cloud and he seemed to get on really well with that - they do a 1 week, 1 month, 3 months or 6 mopnths option and have previews.

I hear lots of good reviews of Conquer Maths, though I haven't used it myself.
